Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 597 Grand Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located between Lorimer Street and Leonard Street, the lot is near the Lorimer Street subway station, serviced by the L train. Yitzchok Katz of Developing NY State is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 95-foot-tall development will yield 126,478 square feet, with 125,661 square feet designated for residential space and 817 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 185 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 679 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, a 35-foot-long rear yard, 93 bicycle parking spaces, and 88 enclosed parking spaces.

NY Building Associates is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits have not been filed for the parking lot on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. why so much parking instead of continuous small-lot ground floor retail?

  2. So this project is near both a subway station and a train, yet will have 88 parking spaces?! 🤔

  3. This has been under construction for months and is already topped out…
