Permits have been filed to expand a one-story structure into a four-story residential building at 654 Jefferson Avenue in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Located between Malcolm X Boulevard and Stuyvesant Avenue, the lot is near the Utica Avenue subway station, serviced by the A and C trains. 654 Jefferson LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 45-foot-tall development will yield 7,061 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have eight residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 882 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar and 36.5-foot-long rear yard.
HPL Engineering is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for a vertical and horizontal expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
