The affordable housing lottery has launched for 1629 Brooklyn Avenue, a seven-story residential building in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Designed by DJLU Architects and developed by Jacob Leifer, the structure yields 22 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are seven units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $123,395 to $198,250.
Residences come equipped with split unit heating and cooling, name-brand kitchen countertops, appliances, and finishes, intercoms, and hardwood floors. Amenities include a backyard, rooftop terrace, a shared laundry room, and pet-friendly policies. Tenants are responsible for electricity including stove, heat, and hot water.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are seven two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $3,599 for incomes ranging from $123,395 to $198,250.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than March 8, 2024.

Does the city seriously not realize developers are taking advantage by hanging otherwise disallowed property identifying signage under the guise it’s just the address? And on top of that it looks terrible.
It seems to be particularly common in Flatbush/East Flatbush for some reason.
Agreed. Tons of tacky crap. There’s a building address/sign set in Comic Sans. You can’t make this stuff up. I mean who could be that absent of taste and thought?
