Permits have been filed for a six-story mixed-use building at 179-07 Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. Located between 179th Street and 179th Place, the lot is within walking distance of the Jamaica-179th Street subway station, serviced by the F train. Azahar Haque is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 63-foot-tall development will yield 15,363 square feet, with 13,672 square feet designated for residential space and 1,690 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 20 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 683 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar, a 52-foot-long rear yard, and 12 enclosed parking spaces.
Wayne Clarke of WCG Solutions is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

I know a lot of folks will comment that the car has a damaged hood, but this isn’t so bad – I thought it would be a lot worse than this. They’ll be able to buff this out no problem.
Love the photo that includes the car wreck car 🙂
Lots of cool things in the picture besides the wrecked car – the Baptist church that looks like it’s in a small town, the ivy gone wild, the Star of David on the awning of the Iglesias at the left.
The lot does not appear to be vacant in the picture.
I was baptized in that church 68 years ago – it was a Presbyterian church then.
