Permits have been filed to expand a three-story structure into a four-story residential building at 422 1/2 Gates Avenue in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Located between Marcy Avenue and Nostrand Avenue, the lot is near the Franklin Avenue subway station, serviced by the A and C trains. Silverrock Development LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 55-foot-tall development will yield 5,188 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have eight residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 648 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, penthouse, and a 35-foot-long rear yard.
Diego Aguilera Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for a vertical and horizontal expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
