Franklin Square-based R&B Acquisition & Development is proposing a 12-unit condominium building at 494 Hempstead Avenue, in Malverne, located about half a mile north of the neighborhood’s Long Island Rail Road station. The Nassau County site, which currently consists of two separate houses at 494 Hempstead Avenue and 1104 Hempstead Avenue, requires a rezoning for the project to be built, according to LI Herald. The zoning district would change from Residence A to Residence C-A if approved by the Town of Hempstead. A public hearing is scheduled for January 26th.

I rent one of those houses involved which we call our home. I have 2 years living there and we’re very happy in this neighborhood even though we live next to a busy avenue with way too many accidents which at certain times the traffic gets something heavy which makes it very difficult to access or exit those houses. I am very sad to know that we’re going to have to leave. It is something we can not avoid. It affects me directly lp and maybe you will be affected in one way or another whether the tragic, changing area or with your policy of insurance. Remember all change creates a chain reaction. Good luck to all and have an excellent day. Gabe.
