Permits have been filed for a new four-story school within walking distance of Yankee Stadium. The lot, at 316 East 165th Street, is currently used for parking. The project is being developed by Bronx-based CG Educational Holding Corporation, and the school will be twelve blocks away from the 167th street stop on the B and D subway lines.
The 60-foot tall structure will create 54,000 square feet of new space, and within, there will be a gym, bicycle room, cafeteria, and music room, with a stage. They also specify that there will be science and art classrooms.
Stamford-based Partners for Architecture will be responsible for the design. They have built at least seven other schools, in New York State, Stamford, and West Africa.
A completion date has not been announced.
