Permits have been filed by an anonymous LLC for a five-story residential building at 1730 Edison Avenue, in The Bronx’s Middletown-Pelham Bay. The location is situated less than a block away from the Buhre Avenue Subway Station, serviced by the 6 train. The subway stop is the second-to-last for the 6 train in the borough. The area surrounding the MTA facility is densely populated with retail storefronts.
The 70-foot tall structure will yield 7,570 square feet of space, with 6,050 square feet for residential use and 1,510 square feet dedicated to a community facility on the first floor. Floors two through five will have two apartments per floor. The eight living spaces will average 756 square feet apiece, indicating rentals.
Alexander Loyer Architects PPLC will be responsible for the design.
The project would replace a single-story family house. Demolition permits have not been filed and an estimated completion date has not been announced.
