It’s been more than two years since we’ve heard any news about 456 Greenwich Street, a large eight-story hotel development that’s been inactive since the extant structures were demolished. The silence was broken Friday, December 22nd, when Caspi Development, Mactaggart Family & Partners, and Barone Management celebrated the official groundbreaking in Tribeca.

The 110-foot tall structure spans Desbrosses Street between Greenwich and Washington Street and will yield 94,000 square feet. The 96 guestrooms and suites will come with access to a wealth of amenities, including six food and drinks spots, interior courtyard measuring 1,500 square feet, spa, large fitness center, meeting space, rooftop pool and what’s being marketed as the largest screening room in Lower Manhattan.
Paperwork has been signed with an anonymous international hotel operator, who will be announced in 2018.
Stephen B Jacobs Group is responsible for the architecture, and Martin Brudnizki is responsible for interior designs.

The construction has stopped for over a month. No action. Grapevine noise seems to be that adjacent building(s) suffered cracks in a couple of apartments. A stop order may or may not have been issued. But there are no employees working there whatsoever for well over a month. I live on Desbrosses and thankfully our building has not been affected.
