Permits have been filed for a six-story residential building at 1728 Townsend Avenue, in the Mount Hope neighborhood of The Bronx. The project is ideally located between two subway stations. Two blocks east is the 174-175th Street station, serviced by the B and D trains, with the 176th street station two blocks north, serviced by the 4 train. Luce Popaj will be responsible for the development.

The 56-foot tall structure will yield 14,750 square feet, with 12,850 square feet dedicated to residential use. 22 apartments will be created, averaging 584 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Tenants will have an outdoor recreational space on the ground floor, with 11 bicycle parking spaces and a laundry room in the cellar.

Badaly Architects will be responsible for the design.

Demolition permits for the existing two-story structure were filed in late-December 2017. Once the permit is approved, completion can be expected in 18-24 months.
