Global media brand Discovery, Inc. will relocate its US headquarters to New York City’s 230 Park Avenue South. TF Cornerstone facilitated the deal and owns the building, with the headquarters taking over 360,000 square feet of Class A office space.
Discovery will consolidate several of its existing New York office locations into the new space. Operations are currently headquartered in Silver Spring Maryland, with relocation beginning in the Fall 2019.
Originally constructed in 1895, 230 Park Avenue South rises 13-stories above Manhattan’s historic Flatiron District. To modernize the existing office space, renovations will include open, loft-style floor plans, ground floor studio and production space, a rooftop terrace, and a full-service wellness center.
“The New Discovery is transforming into a different kind of global media company, and where and how we work is a critical foundation for our future success and growth,” said David Zaslav, President and Chief Executive of Discovery. “We are energized by our fantastic new home in New York – the media capital of the world – where we will write our company’s next chapter. We look forward to bringing our world-class employees together in a creative and collaborative workspace in one of Manhattan’s most vibrant and dynamic neighborhoods.”
Discovery’s brand portfolio includes Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Travel Channel, the Oprah Winfrey Network, and nearly a dozen other premium media channels.
