Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 3923 Carpenter Avenue at the southern edge of Wakefield, The Bronx. The site is right across the street from Shoelace Park, a narrow, 23-block-long public park running along the Bronx River. Six blocks away is the 225th Street subway station, serviced by 2 and 5 trains. Bronx-based Atlantis Development will be responsible for the development.

The 65-foot tall structure will yield 23,290 square feet, with 600 square feet dedicated to a ground floor medical facility, and 18,230 square feet for residential use. 27 apartments will be created, averaging 675 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Nine parking spaces will be available on the ground level. Tenants will have access to a lobby, laundry, recreational space, and storage for five bicycles.

Badaly Architects will be responsible for the design. The structure will be their usual brick façade style with some decoration and exposed PTACs.

Demolition permits have not yet been filed. Once the permits are approved, construction will likely last 18-24 months before completion.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Washed revealed had seen by myself with my following on design.

  2. Another Badaly building. Seems like they are sprinting up everywhere in the Bronx.
