Local developer Sam Chang has completed another hospitality project in Midtown West, located at 324 West 44th Street. Based in Long Island City, McSam Hotel Group is one of the largest hotel developers in New York City with over 20 properties across the five boroughs.
The hotel occupies a through-block lot from 44th to 43rd Streets, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. McSam partnered with M&R Hotel Group to lease the lot for $775,000 last year, the Commercial Observer reported in November 2015.
The Gene Kaufman-designed hotel will debut as Marriott TownPlace Suites, offering 114 rooms, and it measures just under 45,000 square feet in all. Many of the guestrooms will include private terraces. Building amenities include a rooftop patio, fitness center, and a landscaped courtyard.

Just a minor point: TownePlace Suites is spelled with an “e.”
That’s how they named it. Not always correct spell used for naming. Times Square location is not a “towne”, it’s center place of Borough of NYC with population more than 1,500,000 like 2 Detroit!!!
Mean Manhattan Borough of NYC. Times Square have normal daily traffic over 250 thousand people, far from being as a “towne”. But “Town” mean a City itself, opposite to “Suburb”.
Here mean TownPlace, since it’s located off main portion of Skyscrapers of Times Square, in quiet area of Hell Kitchen. A “quiet” means not necessary less traffic, in NYC means missing major Skyscrapers, built over with low rises below 10 stories. In NYC 10 stories buildings are low rises!!!
