Permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 210 Parkville Avenue in Kensington, Brooklyn. The site is seven blocks from the 18th Avenue subway station, serviced by the F train, and nine blocks from the Newkirk Plaza subway station, serviced by the Q trains. Solomon Feder of Velocity Framers will be responsible for the development.
The 85-foot tall structure will yield 33,900 square feet, with 29,250 square feet dedicated to residential use, and 650 square feet for four parking spaces. 43 apartments will be created, averaging 680 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. The building will include 22 bicycle parking spaces, a recreation space, and a laundry room. Private terraces will be included from the second floor and up.
Tecnico Engineering is listed as responsible for the design.
The lot is currently paved over, which will expedite construction times. The estimated completion date has not been announced.

My old neighborhood! Kind of dreary but not a dangerous area. I don’t think there is a good large supermarket in the area though.

Actually, the neighborhood has one of the best, and largest, supermarkets in all of Brooklyn: the Shop Rite on Ave I and McDonald Avenue (which was renovated/remodeled about five years ago). It’s easily within walking distance of the new building, at 210 Parkville Avenue, which until now, has served as a parking lot for employees of the nursing home seen in the background (the yellow bricked building) which has a Foster Avenue address.
But yes, as a former longtime resident, your description of the neighborhood as “dreary but not a dangerous area” is spot on!
