YIMBY went on a tour of Greenwich West, aka 110 Charlton Street, a 30-story residential building nearing completion in Hudson Square. Installation of the hand-laid brick masonry is nearly finished on the structure, which is designed by Francoise of Loci Anima along with Adamson Associates. The project is being developed by Strategic CapitalCape Advisors, and Forum Absolute Capital Partners, while Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group is handling sales for the building’s 170 units.

Raynaud and Jonathan Thornhill, partner architect at Loci Anima, led the tour, which included an up-close look at the masonry façade and views of the skyline from the top of the structure. This is the first building in New York City to be designed by a female French architect.

Hudson Yards, Billionaires’ Row, the Empire State Building, One Vanderbilt, the Chrysler Building, and the rising skyscrapers of NoMad can be seen looking north from the upper floors.

The long and narrow bricks come from Belgian manufacturer Wienerberger and have a subtly textured surface when viewed up close that resembles wood grain. The warm-colored appearance and rounded corners of Greenwich West give the structure a soft, subdued feel. This design language is also reflected in the interior design with the curved kitchen marble islands, wall corners, ceiling light fixtures and cutouts, bathrooms fixtures, and vanities.

A number of penthouses will come with private landscaped terraces overlooking the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline. The interiors of each loft-inspired home are designed by Sebastien Segers Architects, with prices ranging from $1,190,000 to upward of $7,750,000. Amenities include a 24-hour attended lobby, an onsite resident manager and porter, and a handyman staff. Closings will commence early next year.

Completion of Greenwich West is likely expected in 2020.

  1. Nice. The rounded corners are a nice touch. So tired of all the boxy buildings with square corners.
