Permits have been filed for a six-story residential building at 1001 Bushwick Avenue in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Located on the corner of Grove Street and Bushwick Avenue, the lot is near the Knickerbocker Avenue/Myrtle Avenue subway station, serviced by the M train and the Kosciuszko Street station, serviced by the J train. Joel Berkowitz under the 1001 Bushwick LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 60-foot-tall development will yield 21,964 square feet, with 16,653 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 24 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 693 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and 12 enclosed parking spaces.
Diego Aguilera Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed in September for the two-family home currently on the property. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
