Permits have been filed for a 13-story mixed-use building at 142 South Portland Avenue in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Located between Hanson Place and Academy Park Place, the lot is two blocks west of the LIRR Atlantic Terminal and Atlantic Avenue-Barclay Center subway station, serviced by the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, and R trains. Michael T. Rooney under the South Portland LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 129-foot-tall development will yield 105,749 square feet, with 76,297 square feet designated for residential space and 9,891 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 100 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 762 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and a 30-foot-long rear yard.
John Coogan of OCV Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have not been filed as of yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
