Permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 1591 Jesup Avenue in Morris Heights, The Bronx. Located between the Cross Bronx Expressway and Featherbed Lane, the lot is near the Mount Eden Avenue subway station, serviced by the 4 train. Arjan Gjushi under the Jesup Development LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications. Permits previously filed in October 2019 called for 46 affordable independent residences for seniors.
The proposed 64-foot-tall development will yield 50,208 square feet, with 39,787 square feet designated for residential space and 3,623 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 59 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 674 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar and a 38-foot-long side yard.
Badaly Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have not been filed yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
