Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 979 Pacific Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of Pacific Street and Grand Avenue, the lot is three blocks from the Franklin Avenue subway station, serviced by the A and C trains. EMP Capital Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 110-foot-tall development will yield 65,160 square feet, with 48,551 square feet designated for residential space and 7,406 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 69 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 703 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar and a 38-foot-long rear yard.
Issac & Stern Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

This part of the neighborhood still has a lot of development potential and it’s a shame that this is only an 8 story building, should be 12-15 so close to Atlantic, at least.
