58-Story ‘Parcel F’ Rises Past Halfway Mark in Hunters Point South, Queens

Construction has passed the halfway mark on Parcel F, a 58-story residential tower in Hunters Point South, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Gotham Organization, the structure will yield 689 residential units alongside Parcel G, its 34-story, 443-unit sibling. A grade school will be located in the podium of the complex, between the two ground-up towers. The property sits at the confluence of the East River and Newtown Creek, bound by Center Boulevard to the north, 56th Avenue to the east, and 57th Avenue to the west.

Work on the reinforced concrete superstructure has proceeded rapidly since our last update in late April and recently surpassed the height of Parcel G, seen immediately to its left in the following two photos.

Façade installation has also progressed in step, with more of the red brick laid between the tight grid of windows. Wide rectangular windows are found on the podium section, where ground-floor retail space and a senior living facility will be located, while the main tower itself has square-shaped floor-to-ceiling windows.

Parcel F and G together will contain a total of 1,132 homes with 100 units set aside for senior living and 75 percent of the overall inventory designated as affordable housing. Residential amenities include a fitness center, multiple outdoor areas, lounges, and co-working spaces. The senior living quarters will have their own separate set of amenities including a lounge, library, community space, and an outdoor patio. The development will also feature a publicly accessible urban farm on the rooftop. The following rendering shows the base of Parcel F from the northeast, along the corner of Center Boulevard and 57th Avenue.

High-rise buildings look dense in all directions, but I personally like it; because of the density: Thanks to Michael Young.

  2. Nice! Parcel G is looking good, though I’m unsure about the large glass portion on it. I like Parcel F so far too. It just better have that slanted roof!

  3. Ga if it’s available I like to apply for a one bedroom apartment, thank you,
