Permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 1688 Weeks Avenue in Concourse, The Bronx. Located between East 173rd and East 174th Streets, the lot is near the 174th-175th Streets subway station, serviced by the B and D trains. Simcha Ludmir under the Weeks Capital Associates LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 83-foot-tall development will yield 32,224 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 68 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 473 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and a 60-foot-long rear yard.
Boaz M. Golani Architect is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed earlier this month for the two-story residential building on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

What a shame.
What a disaster to destroy this low rise neighborhood.
Not a fan at all of midrises encroaching on intact lowrise streets with stately 100 year old 2-families. So unnecessary when so much crap abounds in all directions. How will this blend in with the existing structures exactly? Also, isn’t this just Tremont or is that north of the C-B-E?
There should be a zoning bonus to keep the front part of the existing building and build higher behind it.
