The affordable housing lottery has launched for 2850 Webster Avenue Senior Apartments, a 12-story mixed-use building in Jerome Park, The Bronx. 2856 Webster Avenue and sister development 410 Bedford Park Boulevard are located on an acre-plus piece of land owned by The New York Botanical Garden situated on the southeast corner of Webster Avenue and Bedford Park Boulevard, located in Bronx Community District 7. Designed by Stephen B. Jacobs Group and developed by Douglaston Development, the structure yields 189 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 130 units for residents at 50 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $0 to $60,050.
Residents will have access to an on-site laundry room, a 24-hour building superintendent, part-time on-site security, and social services. Gas is included in the rent. Individuals or households must meet the minimum age requirement of at least 62 years of age at the time of application submission and must qualify for section 8.
At 50 percent of the AMI, there are 105 studios with a monthly rent of $0 for incomes ranging from $0 to $53,400; and 25 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $0 for incomes ranging from $0 to $60,050.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than January 3, 2023.
