New permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 146-18 Liberty Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. Located between Liverpool Street and Waltham Street, the interior lot is closest to the Sutphin Boulevard-Archer Avenue-JFK subway station, serviced by the E, J, and Z trains. Jasbir Singh of Thind Builders NY Inc. is listed as the owner behind the applications, same as in the previous permits for a 34-unit building.
The proposed 68-foot-tall development will yield 40,289 square feet, with 38,215 square feet designated for residential space and 2,074 square feet for commercial space to be divided into two storefronts. The building will have 52 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 734 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a 64-foot-long rear yard, cellar, 13 open parking spaces, and 13 enclosed parking spaces.
Pirooz Engineering is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed in April 2022 for the two-story structure on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

26 parking spaces? It’s like there’s a conspiracy to keep Queens as much of a cager borough as possible.
