Kushner has begun construction at 118-119 Broadway, the site of a sprawling residential complex in Long Branch, New Jersey. Designed by Minno + Wasko, the $130 million project consists of two four-story buildings that will yield 299 units and ground-floor retail space to be occupied by a SuperFresh grocery store and a café. The property is located along the Lower Broadway corridor and bound by Broadway, Belmont Avenue, and 2nd Avenue.
The development will offer a variety of amenities, including coworking spaces, fitness centers, and rooftop terraces.
Renderings show the buildings clad in a mix of gray and white paneling surrounding floor-to-ceiling windows, with a massing of projecting and recessed volumes lining the streets. Setbacks at the fourth story will be topped with terrace space.
The property is located steps from the 831 and 837 bus lines, and a 16-minute walk from the North Jersey Coast Line Train at the Long Branch station.
“This development represents a significant stride in breathing new life into the downtown while underscoring Kushner’s unwavering commitment to the Long Branch community,” said Nicole Kushner Meyer, president of Kushner. “Our focus extends beyond residential development, aiming to transform this underutilized land into new uses that will serve as an extension of Pier Village, including a supermarket catering to the year-round community.”
