Office Of Environmental Remediation Announces 165 Acres Of Cleaned Land Resulting In 28,000 New Housing Units

The New York City Mayor’s Office of Environmental Remediation (OER) recently announced that it has successfully cleaned 165 acres of contaminated land across the city since the start of Mayor Eric Adams’ administration. The remediated land has been redeveloped into various new uses, including 28,000 units of housing (12,000 of which are affordable), 16 new schools, 2.9 million square feet of community space, and 6.1 million square feet of commercial space.

New Immersive Art Installation Announced for Freedom Plaza In Midtown East, Manhattan

An immersive public art installation, Path of Liberty: That Which Unites US, is coming to Freedom Plaza in Midtown East, Manhattan. Slated to open in spring 2025, the exhibition will span six acres from 38th to 41st Street on First Avenue, and is made possible by the Soloviev Foundation. It was designed by multi-specialty creative studio C&G Partners, with direction from award-winning filmmaker Daniella Vale.

New Lease Signed At 2413 Third Avenue In Mott Haven, The Bronx

Kofee, a Brooklyn-based cafe, is set to open its second New York City location at Maven, a residential tower at 2413 Third Avenue in Mott Haven, The Bronx. Designed by CentraRuddy Architecture and developed by RXR, the 27-story tower yields 200 residential units, 60 of which are rent stabilized and reserved for residents earning 130 percent of the area median income.

Future of Fifth Partnership Gets $152.7 Million In Funding To Transform Fifth Avenue In Midtown, Manhattan

New York City recently issued $152.7 million in funding to the Future of Fifth Partnership, an organization which aims to transform Fifth Avenue into a pedestrian-centered boulevard between Bryant Park and Central Park in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed in partnership between Sam Schwartz and Field Operations, the project plans to nearly double the width of sidewalks along Fifth Avenue to 33.5 feet each and introduce more than 230 new trees, along with approximately 20,000 square feet of planters, seating, and activation spaces.
