Windows are going in at Adam America’s 247 North 7th Street rental project in Williamsburg, where YIMBY found this rendering on the fence. The two connected 7-story buildings are also close to topping out. Once construction finishes, they’ll bring 169 rentals to a through-block lot between Roebling, Havermeyer, North 7th and North 8th Streets.
The photos below show the North 8th Street side of the complex, where construction kicked off last summer. Plans were first filed for the North 7th Street building in 2006, and work re-started a little over a year ago.
An underground parking garage shared by the two buildings will include 79 parking spaces, as well as storage spots for 84 bikes. The development will feature a lounge, 24-hour doorman, two roof decks, extra storage space and a pet spa. Apartments will range from studios to two-bedrooms, with rents starting at $2,575 and going as high as $6,700 for a penthouse, the Daily News reported last month.
Originally a victim of the recession, this site remained stalled for years as it changed hands from one developer to another. Rieder Holdings bought it for $12,000,000 in 2011, and then sold it to Silverstone Property Group for $21,600,000 in 2012 . Finally, Adam America took over the property and its monstrous mortgage for an undisclosed amount in 2013.
