A slew of permits were filed for Vornado’s 220 Central Park South earlier today, indicating some minor changes since the Robert Stern-designed tower’s height bump was officially reported.
The documents reveal that the skyscraper’s height has seen a slight increase; it was initially reported at 920 feet, but the latest figure is 950 feet, with 66 floors. 220 Central Park South will have 160 units in total, as well as a 461 square foot commercial component; the entirety of the project will be just over 410,000 square feet.

Average units at 220 Central Park South will measure 2,500 square feet, which is enormous — especially for Columbus Circle/57th Street, which is currently the most expensive micro-neighborhood of Manhattan. No schedule A or B were filed with the documents, which leaves the size of the penthouse up for guessing, but it will undoubtedly be very large — and astronomically expensive.
YIMBY suspects that the renderings leaked earlier this week (scooped by Curbed) may not be final, with minor design revisions possible; regardless, Stern’s plan for 220 Central Park South will be monumental, and yet another icon will soon rise on the skyline.
