Construction of One57 now appears to be coming into the final stages, and the building’s glass has almost risen to the top. One57, One World Trade Center, and 150 Greenwich Street were all actually topped-out around the same time at the end of last year, so it will be interesting to see which building will be the first to open. Despite the removal of the damaged crane boom, it does not appear the tower crane has been fully repaired.
Further down 57th Street, demolition has not begun on the final building at 225 West 57th Street’s plot, which stands eight stories tall. A range of permits were filed and approved at the end of December, so the building will surely be gone soon. Excavators are also now on-site, so it would seem that work is imminent on Nordstrom’s 1,550 foot flagship tower, which will become the tallest in New York City.
