35-Story, 270-Unit Residential Tower Rises At 44-26 Purves Street, Long Island City

Excavation kicked off this past summer for the 35-story, 270-unit mixed-use building planned at 44-26 Purves Street, in Long Island City, and now the structure is finally rising, with concrete and rebar now to the second floor, per The Court Square Blog. Brause Realty and the Gotham Organization are developing, while FXFOWLE is designing. The project will also have 2,600 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Completion is expected in late 2017, per on-site signage.

52-Story, 586-Unit Mixed-Use Tower Tops Out At 250 Ashland Place, Fort Greene

In the beginning of August, YIMBY posted a construction update on the 52-story, 586-unit mixed-use building at 250 Ashland Place, in Fort Greene/DoBro, and now the building appears to have topped-out, per the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. Cladding installation is moving quickly, and windows are also now up to the 20th floor. The ground floor will contain 10,800 square feet of retail, as well as 8,000 square feet of office space. Gotham Organization is developing while FXFOWLE Architects is designing, and completion is expected in 2016.

Gotham Organization Acquires Development Site At 130 St. Felix Street, Fort Greene

Gotham Organization has acquired the vacant lot at 130 St. Felix Street, on the block immediately north of Atlantic Terminal in Fort Greene for $5.5 million. According to Brownstoner, the vacant property can accommodate a building of 75,114 square feet, and soil tests were done recently, which usually determines the type of foundation a new building will need. Details have not yet been released, and a new building would require approval from City Planning.

Foundation work and piling is underway at 44-26 – 44-28 Purves Street, in Long Island City, where Brause Realty and the Gotham Organization are planning a 35-story, 270-unit mixed-use building. YIMBY revealed renderings in April of the FXFOWLE-designed project, and a 2,600 square-foot retail portion is expected on the ground floor. According to The Court Square Blog, the building is scheduled for completion in October 2017.
