Progress has been swift since YIMBY last stopped by the site in mid-September, when work on the foundations was just beginning. Now a large array of steel rebar await the imminent concrete pour for the ground-floor slab. Designed by Robert Stern Architects and developed by Midwood Investment & Development and EJS Group. Permits Filed for 15-Story Condo Project at 148 East 78th Street, Upper East Side

The Upper East Side is about to see another new condominium development with super-sized units, this time at 148 East 78th Street, which will yield a 15-story building rising 205 feet to its rooftop. The generously-sized ceilings will be matched by the floorplans for the 26 condos, which will average 2,600 square feet apiece, with 68,293 square feet of residential space in total. There will also be 3,739 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Ismael Leyva Architects is listed as the architect of record, and John Usdan of Midwood Management Corp. is the developer. Demolition permits for two existing buildings were filed earlier this month.
