A three-story apartment building at 171 Linden Boulevard in Flatbush might get a big expansion. Alteration applications were filed yesterday to add five stories to the little prewar structure.
The building between Rogers and Nostrand avenues would more than double in size. It would grow from 7,182 square feet to 19,310 square feet of residential space, and the roof line would rise from 36 to 80 feet.
The expansion would add 25 apartments, bringing the number of units in the building up to 31. Average units would be only 620 square feet, which means mostly studios and one-bedrooms.
The first floor would have three units, and each of the upper floors would hold four units. The plans also include a 370-square-foot outdoor space, but they don’t specify whether it’ll be in the front or the rear yard.
The developer is Joel Zupnick, doing business as an LLC based in Dyker Heights, and Queens Village-based engineer Flander Julien applied for the permits. Zupnick picked up the 45-foot-wide building for $1,940,000 in March 2014.
