Reveal For 17-Story, 134-Unit Mixed-Use Building At 810 River Avenue, South Bronx

Renderings have surfaced for M. Melnick & Company’s planned 17-story, 134-unit mixed-use building at 810 River Avenue, in the Concourse, a block from the B, D and 4 trains’ stop at 161st Street/Yankee Stadium. Per Curbed, the building will measure 151,250 square feet in total, and will feature 24,560 and 1,680 square feet of retail and community space, respectively, across the first two stories. Apartments will average 933 square feet, and SLCE Architects is designing. Excavation work is currently underway.

Seven-Story Mosque Planned At 1051 Sherman Avenue, Concourse

Amara Kenneh, imam of Masjid Nur Al-Islam, has filed applications to build a seven-story, seven-dwelling-unit mosque at the vacant lot of 1051 Sherman Avenue, in the Concourse, three blocks in from the Grand Concourse and six blocks from the 167th Street stop on the B/D trains. The structure will measure 24,506 square feet in total, and Nazhat Aboobaker’s Invision Engineers is the applicant of record.

South Bronx Rental Building Purchased for $31 Million, Up $20 Million Within 5 Years

Investor Benzion Kohn has acquired the six-story, 182-rental-unit mixed-use building at 975 Walton Avenue, in The Concourse, for $31 million, per The Real Deal. The previous owners bought the 279,000 square-foot building for about $11.3 million in 2010; commercial space in the structure totals 1,000 square feet.
