Brooklyn-based Joe Waldman has filed applications for a four-story, nine-unit residential building at 2734 Snyder Avenue, in northern Flatbush, two blocks south of the Church Avenue stop on the 2 and 5 trains. The building will measure 6,107 square feet in total, which means units will average a rental-sized 679 square feet apiece. Genaro Urueta’s Maspeth-based firm is the applicant of record, and an existing single-story house must first be demolished.

Brooklyn-based Snyder Estates has filed applications for a four-story, 10-unit residential building at 2717 Snyder Avenue, in Flatbush, two blocks away form the Church Avenue stop on the 2 and 5 trains. The building will measure 8,246 square feet in total, which means units will average 825 square feet apiece. One of the units on the fourth floor will also feature a fifth-floor penthouse. Genaro Ureta’s Masbeth-based GRU Corporation is the applicant of record, and an existing two-story house must first be demolished.

Flatbush Caton Market Will Live on in a New Affordable Housing Development

After two years in limbo, the city-owned Flatbush Caton Market may finally be redeveloped into affordable housing and a Caribbean business center. During a press conference this morning, the city’s Economic Development Corporation announced plans to demolish the brightly colored building at 794 Flatbush Avenue in Flatbush and replace it with 10 stories of affordable apartments.
