Designed by Studio Sofield and developed by Legion Investment Group and Nahla Capital, the 283-foot-tall structure will yield 26 condominium units. Hill West Architects is the architect of record for the property, which is located at the corner of Madison Avenue and East 84th Street.

420 East 75th Street Completes Construction on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction is complete on 420 East 75th Street, a seven-story residential building in the Lenox Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by ARC Architecture + Design Studio and developed by Robert Michaeli of Brooklyn B Company Group, the 74-foot-tall structure yields six full-floor condominium units with an average scope of 1,525 square feet. The project also includes a cellar level and a 31-foot-long rear yard. The property is located on an interior lot between First and York Avenues.

Excavation Underway at 260 East 72nd Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Excavation work is underway at 260 East 72nd Street, the site of a 21-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Peter Pennoyer with C3D Architecture as the architect of record and developed in a partnership between Rabsky Group and Chetrit Group, the 150,000-square-foot structure will yield 54 condominium units and 5,700 square feet of retail space. The project will also include an adjacent five-story annex containing four affordable housing units. The 14,000-square-foot property is alternately addressed as 1357 Second Avenue and located at the intersection of Second Avenue and East 72nd Street, with a narrow panhandle that extends south to East 71st Street.

Demolition Continues at 1482-1484 First Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Demolition is steadily progressing at 1482-1484 First Avenue, the site of a future 30-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Alchemy-ABR, the forthcoming 366-foot tall structure will yield 161,000 square feet of residential space with 86 rental units, and 343 square feet of commercial space, and a 30-square foot backyard. The building at 1482 First Avenue formerly stood four stories tall and spanned 7,100 square feet, and the two-story 1484 First Avenue measured 13,700 square feet that was once occupied by Weill Cornell Medicine. Demolition is expected to cost a combined $1.8 million. The abutting properties are located by the intersection of First Avenue and East 77th Street.

LPC to Review Proposal for Modifications to 945 Madison Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Sotheby’s has submitted a proposal to the Landmarks Preservation Commission for modifications to 945 Madison Avenue, the former Whitney Museum of American Art and an individual and interior landmark on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The plan, which was presented at a public hearing on July 22, proposes minor changes to the building’s entrance in addition to the restoration of its former sculpture court. PBDW Architects was listed as executive architect, Herzog & de Meuron as design consultant, and Gardiner & Theobald as client representative for the work on the property, which is located at the corner of Madison Avenue and East 75th Street.
