A decade-old plan to redesign the wedge of land known as Peck Slip Park is now scheduled for review by the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission. Located between South Street and Water Street in Manhattan’s Financial District, Peck Slip Park measures about .65 acres and is surrounded by a school, a hotel, a parking lot, and a Con Edison electrical facility.
10 days ago, YIMBY featured applications for 637 East 176th Street in Tremont, Bronx. Today, we have the first look at the design for the project, by Badaly Architects. The eight-story residential building will have a multi-tone brick facade atop of a concrete block base for the first floor. Situated between Arthur Avenue and Belmont Avenue, the site is a merger of two lots on the interior of the block.
In the lead-up to 2019, YIMBY will be checking in on each of the Five Borough’s 30 tallest towers currently under construction. Standing at the bottom of the list is One Seaport, aka 161 Maiden Lane, which is a notable presence on the Lower Manhattan skyline when seen from the Brooklyn Bridge, or any view facing west towards the Seaport District. The slender new 60-story and 670-foot-tall residential skyscraper recently topped-out, and curtain wall installation is making substantial headway. Spanning 200,000 square feet, the project is being designed by Hill West Architects, developed by Fortis Property Group, LLC and constructed by Pizzarotti LLC. The interiors are being designed by Groves & Co. Sales and marketing are being carried out by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing.
Designed by Kossar + Garry Architects, new renderings offer a first look at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Epiphany in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Positioned on a modest, interior lot at 716 Lincoln Place, the house of worship will rise two stories, with an additional cellar level below-ground as well as rooftop programming.
LBA Logistics and RXR Realty have big plans for a 770,000-square foot, multistory logistics center in Maspeth, Queens. A 71,000-square-foot single-story warehouse with 6.5 acres of fleet parking and storage is currently extant at 56-19 Grand Avenue. The new structure will feature 21-foot ceiling heights and nine interior dock positions, and can accommodate a variety of vehicles and equipment. It is already available for lease, with occupancy starting in the second quarter of 2019.
