When it comes to massive residential projects in Queens, Long Island City has a fairly solid monopoly on the largest buildings. But as Astoria sees its own wave of new developments, it too is set to sprout an enormously scaled apartment project. The site, at 30-80 12th Street, will have 711 units and be designed by HAAK Architects.
YIMBY has reported extensively on the residential development coming to 221 West 28th Street, with our initial reveal for the project depicting a design by ME Architect. That was sacrificed for an iteration by Karim Rashid, which was then tossed for a version by DXA Architecture, which subsequently evolved into the building’s latest format.
Back in 2014, YIMBY reported on job applications for a new development at 86 Delancey Street, on the Lower East Side. Preliminary renderings were released late last year, and now the first actual images of the building are out, which will rise 12 floors to its rooftop.
Back in July of 2015, YIMBY reported on applications for a new hotel at 88 Walker Street, on the southwestern edge of Chinatown. Now, work has begun on the site, and we have the reveal for the building that is about to replace the empty lot.
With East New York’s rezoning now finalized, YIMBY recently revealed one of the first big developments coming to the neighborhood, at 1427-1429 Loring Avenue. Permits were also recently filed for a new complex at 3301 Atlantic Avenue/250 Euclid Avenue, at the end of January. Now, we have the first rendering for that building as well, which is being designed by Dattner Architects.
