Reveal for Six-Story, 70-Unit Residential Building Approved at 222 Avenue E, Bayonne

Renderings have surfaced for the six-story, 70-unit residential building planned at 222 Avenue E, located on the corner of East 21st Street on the southern end of Bayonne, New Jersey. That’s in Hudson County. The residential units, rental apartments, will range from one- to two-bedrooms, some of which will be duplexes. Amenities include the traditional list of luxuries, like a rooftop terrace, a fitness center, a community lounge, and a 72-car parking garage. Passaic, N.J.-based Madison Hill Properties is the developer. The project was approved by city’s Planning Board this past summer and was also granted a 25-year tax abatement, Jersey Digs reported. Completion is expected in 2018. The vacant site is located across the street from the 22nd Street station on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail.

Six-Story, 10-Unit Mixed-Use Building Filed at 326 Avenue U, Gravesend

Brooklyn-based Scarano Realty has filed applications for a six-story, 10-unit mixed-use building at 326 Avenue U, in central Gravesend. The project will measure 11,661 square feet. It will include retail space in the cellar and on a mezzanine level connected to the ground floor. The residential units will be located on the second through sixth floors and should average 626 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. Amenities will include six off-street parking spaces, storage for 20 bikes, a recreation room on the ground floor, laundry facilities, and a roof terrace. David Silberman’s Flushing-based firm is the applicant of record. The 2,227-square-foot property is currently vacant. The Avenue U stop on the F train is down the block.



Eight-Story, 15-Unit Residential Building Rises Above Ground Floor at 42-83 Hunter Street, Long Island City

The eight-story residential building at 42-83 Hunter Street, located in the interior of Long Island City’s Court Square district, has risen above the ground level. The steel structure has been assembled for the first of the building’s eventual eight levels. The Lions Group NYC is developing the 15,948-square-foot, 15-unit project, designed by Jon Yung’s My Architect PC. Lions Group II, LLC is listed as the general contractor. The glass façade of the slender mid-rise would open upon a pocket park, which allows for sweeping vistas of the Long Island City skyline and Midtown Manhattan beyond.

20-Story, 290-Key AC Hotel Rises Above Street Level at 252 West 40th Street, Garment District

Construction has reached the third floor on the 20-story, 290-key four-star AC Hotel under development at 252 West 40th Street, in the Garment District section of Midtown. The construction progress can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits describe a structure that will eventually measure 120,489 square feet and rise 230 feet above street level. The hotel rooms will be located on the second through 18th floors and should average 415 square feet apiece. Amenities include a fitness center, a library, storage for 12 bikes, a restaurant on the ground floor, and a second restaurant on the 20th floor. OTO Development is the developer and Helpern Architects is behind the architecture. Completion can probably be expected in 2017.
