The superstructure of 56 Leonard Street is at the tower’s fifth floor, though the pace of construction has apparently lagged behind schedule due to unforeseen difficulties surrounding the Herzog & de Meuron-designed tower. Construction will last until 2015 so the delay isn’t that surprising, but the individualized layouts of each of the skyscraper’s lower floors have evidently been difficult to implement, and the development has barely risen one floor since the last update, from one month ago.
Besides construction progress, Buzz Buzz Home reports that 56 Leonard’s most budget-friendly unit to date is now on the market, at only $1.4 million. The 655 square foot studio residence contrasts to the tower’s penthouse, which recently went into contract for $47 million.
