110 Madison Avenue is going vertical, with the future 17-story building now standing two floors above street level. The development will eventually hold 18 condominiums, catering to the NoMad’s boutique luxury segment; the area has become increasingly upscale as New York’s technology industry has boomed, and the building’s location places it within walking distance of ‘Silicon Alley.’
The project’s architects are Kossar + Garry, though the narrow lot leaves little potential for creativity, though the interiors will certainly be nice. 110 Madison Avenue’s chief draw will be its exclusivity, as most units will occupy an entire floor; the neighborhood has several larger projects like 400 Park Avenue South and Huys in the works, but 110 Madison will cater to a different market, given its short supply of units. The building will also lack views, though the trade-off for residents is added privacy – 110 Madison sits below the ‘plateau’ of buildings on its namesake avenue.
