The Oro 2 is just about topped-out; permits are conflicting, with several different filings, but Brownstoner reported that the tower will stand 35 floors, and a rough count reveals the tower should be approaching its pinnacle. The building will have a total of 214 units, and was built as a sibling to the Oro; the lot stood in limbo following the recession, but construction resumed last year.
Designed by Ismael Leyva, the building is clad in white-brick. Renderings of the project depict a glassy crown, though cladding has not reached the point where that would become obvious. Otherwise, the design is fairly plain, and at 35 stories, that is fine. The building will act as filler on the Downtown Brooklyn skyline, which is something it certainly needs, especially on periphery locations.
The Oro 2’s official address is 313 Gold Street, and completion is slated for 2014.
