From building supplies to an actual building, a collection of warehouses between Metropolitan and North Third — mid-block between Berry and Wythe — is being transformed.
Yesterday afternoon, Marvel Architects filed for a new building permit at 84 North Third Street (also with 112-123 Metropolitan Avenue addresses), to be developed by New Jersey-based Anthony Tristani’s 94 North Street Realty LLC, per the application.
The building would reach seven stories and 70 feet into the air, and contain 105,000 square feet of total construction floor area. Of that, nearly 60,000 square feet would be devoted to residential use (divided among 75 apartments), with more than 13,000 square feet of commercial space, presumably ground floor retail.
The person who answered the listed phone number refused comment, though the building permit could point to either condos or rentals. Relatively small units – averaging just 790 square feet – suggest rentals, however the sizzling condo market and the 81 parking spaces indicated on the application tells us it might be smaller condos instead. This number is far greater than most would build for rentals, and even a bit high for condos, at more than one spot per residence.
