In more suburban eastern Queens, two single-family homes are cowering to the wave of residential demand and will soon be replaced by multi-family buildings.

The first project is at 61-42 172nd Street, in Utopia, and its owner, Xiao Fei Jin, has filed applications for a two-story, two-unit residential building measuring nearly 3,900 square feet. John C. Chen is designing the structure, and the existing 1.5-story abode was approved for demolition in April.

The second project is located at 150-21 28th Avenue, in Linden Hill (north of Downtown Flushing), and A&S Home Builders has filed applications for a two-story, two-unit residential building measuring nearly 2,850 square feet. Frank Petruso is designing, and the two-story home on site was approved for demolition last February.
