Construction appears to be nearly complete now that façade installation has finished on the 53-story, 600-unit mixed-use building under development at 551 Tenth Avenue, located between West 40th and 41st streets in Midtown West. The latest photo was taken by NY Constuction Photography. The most recent building permits have the tower, dubbed 555TEN, measuring 712,416 square feet and standing 610 feet in height.
An unspecified amount of retail will be located on the ground floor, followed by 92,393 square feet of community facility space on the second through seventh floors. The residential units, which will be rental apartments averaging 884 square feet apiece, will be located on the 10th through 51st floors. Twenty percent of them, or 120 units, will rent at below-market rates through the affordable housing lottery. Extell Development Company is the developer and SLCE Architects is behind the design. Occupancy is currently underway.

Attractive and impressive the tower, 53-story mixed-use involving dorm with rental apartments.
It’s almost possible to hold your breath until the next silver reflective glass box is completed.
