Piling work has begun for the six-story, 45-unit mixed-use building under development at 380 Newark Avenue, located on the corner of 6th Street in The Village section of downtown Jersey City. Progress on construction can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums.

The 77,000-square-foot project will contain 45 condominiums, ranging from one- to three-bedrooms, in addition to 3,800 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a 20-car parking garage. The structure will be topped by a 4,800-square-foot rooftop terrace. The Jersey City-based Weingarten Group is the developer and Scott Mahaffey’s Hamilton Heights-based firm is the architect of record. A targeted completion date is not known.

  1. There is no harm in doing the six-story mixed-use building, because Jersey City was meeting happily with construction.
