Permits have been filed for a four-story mixed-use building at 1548 72nd Street, in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. The site is three blocks away from the 71st Street Subway Station on the corner of Lt. Joseph Petrosino Park, serviced by the D train. The area is mostly residential, with some shops along New Utrecht Avenue. The Brooklyn-based firm New Empire Real Estate Development is behind the applications.
The 40-foot tall structure will yield 11,980 square feet of space. 11,250 square feet will be dedicated to residential use, and 730 square feet will be for a daycare facility in the cellar. Two parking spaces will be made available. The project will result in nine units, averaging 1250 square feet apiece, indicating condominiums.
Building Consulting Engineering PLLC will be responsible for the design.
Demolition permits were filed in May of 2017 for the two-story house and garage. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

Big deal details by Andrew Nelson. (Hello YIMBY)
too bad about 72nd street projuect—there goes the neighborhood.
Doesn’t look like that conforms with the zoning requirements – at least for parking. 2 spaces for 9 units? Parking is already horrendous.
