Today YIMBY has another exclusive new look at the imminently-opening 29-22 Northern Boulevard, officially dubbed ALTA LIC, in Long Island City, Queens. The 43-story building stands across the street from Dutch Kills Green Park, a small, pleasant public park that is rising in relevance. The Queens Plaza subway station is just one block away, and the Queensboro Plaza station is four blocks further, giving future tenants access to the E, M, N, R, W, and 7 trains.

The project is being developed by Simon Baron Development and Quadrum Global. Besides the new renderings, ALTA LIC new website has also officially launched.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Acted of beautiful designs can’t cover anymore.

The transformation of Queens Plaza is rather remarkable but I’ll never understand why anyone would want to live right above the endless screeching of elevated trains.

  3. So they changed the design of the top of the building, which used to have angled structures pointing in both directions. Early renderings even had colored (neon?) lighting going up the side of the building and along the top of those structures. At least in those early takes, it was a funky, quirky building. Now it’s just a boring building with a bunch of tiny windows oddly placed on it for no apparent reason.
