Permits have been filed for a six-story mixed-use building at 589 Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The site is located right next to the entrance for the Metropolitan Avenue subway station, serviced by the G and L trains. SL Development will be responsible for the development.
The 74-foot tall structure will yield 13,500 square feet, with 1,090 square feet dedicated to ground floor retail, and 8,800 square feet for residential use. 12 apartments will be created, averaging 730 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Tenants will have access to a lobby, storage, laundry, and bicycle storage. A shared rooftop deck will be created for all residents, with a private terrace for the penthouse unit on the sixth floor.
Manhattan-based Rawlings Architects will be responsible for the design.
Demolition permits have not been filed for the existing structure. The estimated completion date has not been announced.
