Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 227 Barker Avenue in Allerton, The Bronx. The site is five blocks away from the Pelham Parkway subway station, serviced by the 2 and 3 trains. The New York Botanical Garden is also a few blocks away. Vyacheslav Faybyshev of Omni Build is listed as behind the applications.
The 64-foot tall structure will yield 24,250 square feet, with 3,530 square feet dedicated to an unspecified community facility, and 16,050 square feet for residential use. 23 apartments will be created, averaging 700 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Future tenants will have an indoor recreation space on the second floor, laundry, and parking for 12 bicycles.
Dome Architecture Design and Engineering will be responsible for designing the future structure.
Demolition permits for the existing structure were filed in early October. The estimated completion date has not been announced.
