Demolition permits have been filed for 331 and 333 Broome Street and 145, 149 and 151 Bowery in preparation for the mixed-used corner development at 331-337 Broome Street and 151-153 Bowery. Filings include the full demolition of three 3-story commercial buildings, and a 5-story mixed use building currently on the lot.
The large footprint will be developed into a mix of street level retail with hotel and residential apartments above, totaling eight stories. Developer Emmut Properties is responsible for the project.
151-153 Bowery is located one block north from the Grand Street Station, servicing the B and D trains, and is one block south from the Bowery Station, servicing the J and Z trains. The property is also down the block from 138 Bowery, another eight-story, 73-unit apartment-hotel under development by Emmut Properties.
No completion date has been announced yet, however with filings now in the works, construction appears to be imminent.

Please pardon me for using your space: Side by side I like colors and windows. Beautiful.
The description says 145/149 Bowery would be demolished as well, but doesn’t mention 147 Bowery which is attached to 149. Additionally, the rendering clearly shows 149 (with red “Go Green” awning) still there. So it looks like this building is just the buildings on Broome, and 151/153 Bowery, and that’s it.
I used to work in 149 Bowery, so would be sad to see it go.
You guys are a few years behind the ball…. these renderings are old. Lightstone will be building a Moxy Hotel here…
