Celebrated muralist and animator Mike Perry recently completed an enormous new mural spanning the first floor entry and communal areas of Sunset Yards. Located at 341 39th Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Sunset Yards will deliver 200,000 square feet of commercial space, ground-floor retail, and tenant amenities.
Perry, who is most known for his animation work on Comedy Central’s Broad City, is the first artist to complete his piece in the new commercial building. Titled Park Sunset, the work is described as a mash-up of New York City’s “urban chaos” and incorporates swirls of abstracted buildings, flora, and playful figures meant to represent the city’s kinetic energy.
Madison Realty Capital is behind the forthcoming property, and sought to deliver top-class office space to the evolving Brooklyn neighborhood, while also promoting and contributing to the artistic texture of Sunset Park. Their vision for Sunset Yards is expected to fully complete by 2019.
